When ever we talk about SEO, we divide it into on site and off site SEO.
Off site SEO mainly contains
backlinks and social signals. Specially, to boost your ranking in SERP's
 you need to get
quality links from other authority sites. We all know the importance of
search engine traffic and that getting high quality backlinks to your blog i
s one of the best ways to improve your blogs rankings and get better search
engine traffic and results, this post will be listing 101 ways by which you can
get quality backlinks to your blog.
Get Quality BackLinks For Blog
Though before we move ahead, here are things that you
need to keep in mind. In 2012, Google launched Penguin update
which is targeted to get rid of sites using spammy or paid ways to
build links. Also, many ways which I mentioned in the article are
not so good ways to get quality backlinks, so I will strikethrough
such ways and you can ignore them.
Also, when you are building backlinks, you need to keep
quality of links and anchor text variation in your mind.
Also, instead of creating lots of backlinks to your homepage only, start working on
building links to internal pages. You can start working on resource pages like "WordPress guide" and
build links to them. This way, you can also target Single or double word Keywords easily.
Some of the link building methods, which you should ignore:
Before, I start with my 101 list, here are some of the link building methods that you should ignore:
  • Avoid site wide link from footer (WordPress themes or plugins)

In terms of SEO, a lot has changed in last couple of years, but one thing
which remains the same is Backlink. In old days your site would rank

higher based on number of backlinks you have got, but in 2014 it's all
about how many quality links you are getting. Last year,
Google Penguin algo update killed all the private blog networks and devalued low quality links.
In this tutorial, I will be talking about some of the best online backlink checker websites,

which you can use to check how many backlinks your website have got.
Backlink Checker Tools

Why you need Backlink checker tools?

When any website links to your site or any page of your site from his Website, it's call backlinks.

Backlinks used to be one of the most important parameter for high page rank and better keyword ranking.
Though with time, Google demoted the priority of Backlinks and added more signals in order to rank a
website. Backlinks are usually categorized in two ways: Dofollow backlinks and no follow backlinks.
When we talk about creating back-links, we usually concentrate on creating dofollow links and
using these backlink checker tools, we count how many back-link we have created for our site.
Also, a good number of backlink helps in improving page rank and also mozrank of our site.
Here are few online free backlink checker tools which will help you to see all the incoming
backlinks to your Website. You can select anyone of these tools according to your requirement.
Few of them gives detailed results and few gives results in number of backlinks but the best part in
all of them is none of them requires registration or signup which makes the process quick.

List of useful Online Backlink Checker Websites:

SEMRUSH:
SEMRUSH is one tool that I have been using for almost 2 years and with the new features they
are adding, it's making it a complete robust SEO tool. Before I talk about backlink checking feature
of SEMRUSH, let me tell you that it's not a free too, but you can use this special link to use
SEMRUSH completely free for first 14 days which cost $149. Getting back to the feature,
they have an extensive database which is updated every day and you will be able to check
check your website backlink status accurately. Here is a screenshot of their main page
where I'm checking backlink status of my blog.
SEMRUSH Backlink overview report
Do notice the way their domain overview report shows the details like which
TLD's zone is linking you to the most and you can also find details about country you
getting most link from. You can use SEMRUSh to check backlinks for your website or
for your competitor website. They also have a backlink comparison tool which you can use to
compare your domain backlinks with others, and get a complete report. Here is one such report:

ahrefs link checker
Here is a latest addition and I find this really worth mentioning here.
It's a paid backlink checker tool but you can get complete backlink analysis along
with anchor text analysis of your site, when you register for free account.
This tool offers great deal of detailed related to all backlinks to your site and with time,
how your site links are increasing or decreasing.  Specially after Penguin update,
if you are hit by negative SEO, this tool will be your life saver, as you can get all the link details,

close them with single click but pop-up ads always repeals me. BacklinkWatch provides
you all details of backlinks of your blog.
Backlinkwatch
Open Site Explorer:
Of all the tools listed above, Open Site Explorer is my favorite online backlink checker site. It is worth trying if you want to compare backlinks between two or more domains. This tools work best when you have a paid account of SEOMOZ, though free tool is good enough to get you started for checking backlinks of yours and your competitor.

There are two kind of people in the world; one who just do hard work, and the other who do Hard
work + smart work. Success comes to the people who finds a balance between
hard work and smart work.

CPC AdSense keywords are usually long-tail keywords
. And some of them are as high as $70+ per click.
Long Tail high CPC AdSense Keywords

with author advertising wordpress plugin. Download and install the plugin.
You can also install wordpress plugin from your dashboard.

setting up your blog as a revenue sharing blog.

This is the first option, where you will put your pub id, In the form
pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You can decide the percentage you want to share with the contributor.
I will suggest give full liberty to contributor and leave it blank.
Leave the next two option Like I have.
Now this is the part which you will be showing to your contributor
in the dashboard and they will be using it to enter their adsense pub id and channel.
In the custom field one, enter your channel no, which will be used to display your ad ,
when someone has not filled his advertising info.
If you have done Everything correct by far. Now place this code anywhere you
want your ad to be displayed.Following code is for 300*250 ad unit.
You can change it according to your need.
What it will do is, it will pull up the pubID and Custom channel
ID from the information entered by the contributor
<script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client =
"%pubid%"; google_ad_slot = "%custom1%"; google_ad_width
= 300; google_ad_height = 250; //-->
 </script> <script type="text/javascript" src=

Blogging as a full-time profession has been growing rapidly in

India with people from all spheres of life creating their own blogs.

A major reason for increase shift towards professional bloggers

is the self-satisfaction associated with doing something of your

own and also the monetary income which comes mainly from Google Adsense.
In my earlier guest post for ShoutMeLoud readers,

I wrote an article on overview of income tax on

bloggers and freelancers and this article I would mainly

be focusing on Income Tax on Adsense Income only.

I'm assuming that most bloggers don't have much knowledge

about manner of computation of Income Tax and

I would be explaining everything from the basic and

will try to simplify everything as much as possible.

Income Tax on Adsense Income

Firstly, it is important to note that only Income Tax is

levied on Adsense Income in India and no other tax like

Service Tax, VAT, GST, Excise Duty etc is levied on Adsense Income.

Earlier, Service Tax was levied on Adsense Income but

now No Service Tax is levied on Adsense Income.

Irrespective of how much you earn, Service Tax won't be

levied on Adsense Income in India.
Before explaining the manner of levy of Income

Tax on Adsense in India, it is important for a blogger to

understand the concept of Financial Year. Income

Tax in India is levied on the yearly income earned by a person

in a financial year. The Financial year in India starts from

1st April and ends on 31st March. Therefore,
Financial Year 2013-14 would be from 1st April 2013 to 31st March 2014
Financial Year 2014-15 would be from 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015
The total income earned from Adsense and other sources during a
financial year would be added up and tax would be levied as per
the Income Tax Slab Rates in force. The Income Tax Slab Rates
are announced by the Finance Minister in the Budget and keep on
changing every year. The current income tax slab rates are mentioned
in this link: Income Tax Slab Rates for the year 2013-14 and 2014-15.
Once you have computed your total annual income from

Adsense and other sources, you can also make use of various

income tax calculators which are available both in the

web interface and as mobile apps. The most popular

web-interface income tax calculator has been prepared

by the Income Tax Department itself and can be

accessed from this link. The ICICI Bank tax calculator

mobile app for Android and iOS is also good in case

you prefer to use the calculator as an app on your mobile.

Computation of Total Income from Adsense

To provide services to the advertiser, you would have

incurred some expenditure as well like Hosting expense,

telephone expense, internet expense etc. Therefore,

the amount received from the advertiser is not your income,

it is the Revenue. Income is the net amount which you

have earned after deducting expenses and depreciation.

(The concept of Depreciation has been explained below in this article.)
There is no pre-specified set of expenses which can be claimed.

Any expense incurred by you for earning revenue or

has the potential of helping you in earning future revenue

can be claimed as an expense which will lead to reduction

of total income leading to reduction of taxes payable.

I'm creating an illustrative list to help bloggers understand

the nature of expenses which can be claimed:-
  1. Hosting Expense
  2. Domain Renewal Expense
  3. Telephone Expense
  4. Internet Expense
  5. Electricity expense
  6. Salary Expense
  7. Website development expense
  8. Fuel expense
  9. Meeting Expense
  10. Content writer expense
This is only an illustrative list and there can be many such

expenses which are allowed to be claimed.

After computing the total annual revenue,

total annual expenses and total annual depreciation,

the income would be computed in the following manner:-
Total Annual Revenue xxx
(Less) Total Annual Expenses (xxx)
(Less) Total Annual Depreciation xxx
(=) Total Annual Income xxx

What is Depreciation?

If for providing your services, you have purchased a laptop

worth Rs. 50,000 and installed internet connection on the same

@ Rs. 1,000 pm, these are to be subtracted from the total

annual revenue. The amount spent monthly on internet

connection is an expense of recurring nature and can

be shown as an expense as explained above.
However, the amount spent by you on purchasing a laptop

is a one-time expense and the expected life of a laptop

is usually 2 years. Therefore, the laptop becomes your asset.
Over a period of 2 years, your laptop efficiency will keep on

reducing gradually and after 2 years, it will require a change.

This gradual effect of reduction in the value of your asset is called depreciation.
As the expected life of your laptop is 2 years, you cannot

allocate this cost to only 1 financial year. This will be allocated

over 2 years and the formula for the same is as follows:-
Annual Depreciation = Total Value of the Asset
Total Life of the Asset
Therefore, the cost of the laptop would be allocated over 2

years i.e. Rs. 50,000/2 = Rs. 25,000. This Rs. 25,000 is the

depreciation on laptop every year for 2 years after which

you will have to purchase a new laptop.
Depreciation is levied on all assets which have life of

more than 1 year. Some examples of assets on which

bloggers usually claim depreciation are mobile, laptop,

desktop, office furniture, cars etc.
Filing of Income Tax Returns
Once you have computed your total annual income

and the tax payable thereon, you would be required to

file a statement with the income tax department showing

the manner of computation of income and the tax payable thereon.

This statement is called the Income Tax Return and is required

to be filed every year. All Incomes from Blogging and other online incomes (incl. Adsense, Affiliate, Services etc) are required to be disclosed under head "Profits or Gains of Business or Profession" and you can submit this information in either ITR 4 or ITR 4S.
The last date for filing the income tax return is 31st July which comes after the end of the financial year. Therefore, for the Financial Year 2013-14, the last date for filing income tax return is 31st July 2014.
However, in case you have a big business and your annual revenue is more than Rs. 1 Crore per year, you would be required to get your income tax audit conducted by a Chartered Accountant and the last date for filing income tax returns in this case would be 30th Sept.
Although the returns are required to be filed only once in a year, tax is required to be paid in 3 installments in the same financial year in which the income has been earned. The payment of tax in instalments in the same financial year in which it is earned is known as Advance Tax.
The procedure for payment of taxes and filing of income tax returns is now fairly convenient as everything can now be done online.
Income Tax is a wide gamut of complications and there may be some intricacies involved in the computation of Income Tax on Adsense. For the purpose of simplicity and better understanding of the concept of Income Tax, I've only given an overview of the computation of Income Tax on Adsense Income.
If you are not much comfortable with Income Tax, it is always advisable to consult a CA. A CA usually charges Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000 for small business. The rates increase as the scale of business increases. However, before approaching a CA, you should also have some basic knowledge of Income tax which have been explained above.

In case of any queries with respect to levy of Income Tax on Adsense Income and other Advertisement/Affiliate Incomes, please leave your queries them in the comments below and I would be happy to help.

!Earlier when I shared about how Google AdSense pays in India, I talked about AdSense is planning to enable EFT payment for indian AdSense users. EFT (Electronic fund transfer) payment will ensure your AdSense earning will directly deposit into your bank account, and most important you don't need to wait for receiving check and check clearance time.  As an AdSense publisher, this feature is beneficial and making our work paper-less. In this tutorial I will explain everything you need to for enabling EFT payment for your AdSense account.

How to Configure Wire transfer for Indian AdSense publishers

This whole setup process will not take more than 15 minutes, and I highly recommend you to do that to save time for future payment. Follow the steps mentioned below and keep your mobile phone handy, as you might need to call your bank customer care to get the IFSC and Swift code. Along with Direct bank deposit feature, now you can also specify the payment threshold and hold your payment for up-to one year. So, let's get on with our quick guide for enabling EFT payment for your AdSense account.
  • Login to your AdSense account and Click on gear box and select payments.
  • Click on Payment settings under payment page.
  • Click on add a new form of payment.
On the next screen, you need to enter your bank account details. There are two details which you need to get from your bank. (IFSC code and Swift BIC code). To get the IFSC code and Swift code for your account, simply call your bank customer care and ask for it. In my case I'm using ICICI bank account and I have used following Swift code to receive payment: ICICINBBNRI . If you are calling ICICI bank they will provide you with 2 swift code CHASUS33XXX for USD and ICICINBBNRI for INR. You need to enter Swift code for INR and conversion will be taken care by your bank. This may change if you are using any other bank account, so I suggest you to re-confirm it from your bank customer care.
AdSense Wire transfer to Bank
Click on save payment and that's it. Now you will receive money directly into your bank account and here are few more details which you need to know about updated AdSense Payment policy:
  • You can update your payment method until 20th of any month.
  • You can now use any AdSense payment threshold greater than minimum ($100) payment.
  • You can hold your payment until any specific date; maximum up to 1 year. (Though I discourage you to use this feature, as you might face issue if AdSense decide to ban your account).
Adsense Payment threshold
Over all, direct bank deposit feature is already making life of many Indian AdSense publisher easy, and if you have not updated your Payment option, it's time to log into your AdSense account, and update payment settings.

  • A. Pin verification is mandatory process from AdSense to verify your address, so yes; it is!

AdSense is a Google service that lets webmasters display ads on their websites and blogs. When people visit your blog or website, then click on those ads, you get paid a small amount, so adding AdSense to your self-hosted WordPress sites and blogs represents one way of monetizing your work. You don’t need to know HTML to embed AdSense ads into your posts, because WordPress provides an HTML mode into which you simply copy and paste the AdSense code.
Step 1Log in to your Google AdSense account. If you don’t have an account, go to the Google AdSense main page and click on the orange “Sign Up” button in the top right corner (see link in Resources).
Step 2Click the “My Ads” tab and locate the AdSense ad that you would like to display in the WordPress post in your list of ads. If needed, create a new ad by clicking the “New Ad Unit” button and adjusting the ad settings, then clicking “Save” to add it to your ad list. Click on the “Get Code” option below the name of the ad to open the code in a window. Select the code and copy it.
Step 3Log in to your WordPress site using your administrator account.
Step 4Click on the “Posts” option in the left sidebar and select the “Add New” option from the submenu.
Step 5Create your post as you usually would. When your post is ready, click on the “HTML” tab at the top right side of the post editor field.
Step 6Paste the AdSense code in the post where you want the ad to appear.
Step 7Click the “Publish” button at the top right of the post editor to publish your post with the AdSense ad in it.

When you display Google AdSense ads on your company’s website, Google’s advertising services feeds detailed tracking data for each individual visitor into a variety of algorithms to come up with the ads Google thinks the visitor is most likely to click. This maximizes the chances that both your company and Google will make money from that visitor. However, Google’s advertising services don’t track visitors through their IP address, but rather through tiny browser files called cookies.

IP Addresses

Tracking visitors through their IP address would not give Google detailed or accurate information about visitors for a variety of reasons. First, IP addresses can be dynamic. Just because a visitor had a certain IP address on one visit does not mean that his household will have the same IP address next time he visits. Additionally, a server can only see the IP address of an Internet connection. It does not see the individual IP addresses a router assigns to individual computers on a network. Every visitor on a network looks like the same visitor from the perspective of a website.

Tracking

Because IP addresses cannot reliably identify an individual user, advertising services track visitors through small files on their browsers called cookies. When you visit a website that is advertising with Google AdSense, it tells your Web browser to create a cookie with data to identify you as a unique visitor. As you visit more sites that use Google’s advertising services, the sites will check for that cookie to identify you. This lets Google’s advertising services track your browsing and show you targeted ads.

IP Address Use

Google’s advertising services don’t use IP addresses to track visitors, but they do use a visitor’s current IP address to help select ads. While an individual connection’s IP address can vary, IP address blocks are specific to geographical areas. Consequently, a visitor’s IP address cannot identify the visitor, but it can show where the visitor is. This lets Google AdSense display ads for deals and products that are local to the visitor.

Cookie Blocking Controversy

Advertisers believe that tracking visitor browsing with cookies provides them with essential data for displaying relevant ads the visitors will want to click, which lets website operators monetize the otherwise free content they produce for the Internet. This has led advertisers to oppose the efforts of privacy advocates to prevent third-party services, like Google’s advertising services, from installing tracking cookies when visitors load a Web page. Advertisers believe that without this kind of tracking data, their ads would be less effective in attracting clicks and making money for themselves and the website publishers that display their ads. This, such services argue, represents a threat to the business model on which the Internet currently operates.

It sounds simple; get people to click ads on a Web page and make money. Website owners around the world do that daily using AdSense, a tool that Google makes available to anyone. If you’d like to join the action and make money using AdSense, you’ll need to add a short block of code to the pages on your blog or website.

How AdSense Works

AdSense helps advertisers by getting people to visit their websites. For example, when you place AdSense code on one of your Web pages, that code generates ads on your page. When a site visitor clicks an ad, that’s one more potential customer for the advertiser — and for you, the code logs that click and credits your AdSense account. The amount that you make per click varies depending on the advertiser whose ad you display. After the money in your AdSense account reaches a certain threshold, Google sends you a payment. As of January 2013, your payment threshold is $100 if your reporting currency is the U.S. dollar. View a summary of your estimated earnings on your Google Analytics homepage. If you'd like to view detailed information, tap or click the homepage's “Performance Reports” tab.

Getting Started

You don’t have to write code to use AdSense code. After you create an AdSense account, Google gives you a few lines of HTML code that make AdSense work wherever you place the code. If you don't have an AdSense account, visit the Google AdSense signup page and create a new account (link in Resources). During the signup process, you fill out a page that requests basic information, such as your contact name and your website’s URL.

Account Approval

After you submit your application, Google sends an email letting you know if your application made it through a preliminary review process. At that point, you will be provided with the AdSense code to paste on one of your Web pages. Google stresses that it is important to place the Google Analytics code in your Web pages immediately after receiving it; the company will not review your application until you do. You will receive final notification via email.

HTML Basics

Google understands that not all site owners are programmers. If other people created your website and they can’t help you add AdSense code to it, visit Google’s help site and learn to add the code yourself (link in Resources). HTML is the markup language that people use to create websites and blog pages. People use a variety of tools to edit HTML documents, including text editors such as Notepad and dedicated HTML editors like Dreamweaver.

Adding Code

Google explains several ways to add AdSense code on its help page named, "A few words about HTML Web" (link in Resources). On that page, you will find links named “Using Code View,” “Using HTML Insert” and “Using a Content Management System (CMS). Each link takes you to a page that describes how to add AdSense code using a specific type of HTML editor. For instance, if you use a Code View Editor that lets you work with HTML code in its raw form, click the “Using Code View” link to learn how to perform that task.

Considerations

Google has AdSense program policies that you must follow before adding code to your pages. If you fail to adhere to those policies, Google can stop serving ads to your site and disable your AdSense account. For instance, you can’t put your ads in emails, software and pop-up windows. You can, however, experiment with placing your ads in different locations on your pages. Once your AdSense code is in place, maximize your chances for success by learning how experts place ads on their pages to maximize revenue.
